In the comics, Doctor Octopus's name was Otto Gunther Octavius and he was a scientist who created a harness that fit around his body with four mechanical arms attached the it and Doctor Octavius controlled the arms with his mind like any part of his body. He had an accident while conducting an experiment that caused an explosion that made the harness on Octavius's body attach to his skin along with the arms. Doctor Octavius woke up in a hospital and was furious thinking he was kept prisoner, so he escaped and began a life of crime with his four arms and he has encountered Spider-man many times and had several battles with him, and Doctor Octopus also created the sinister six. The Ultimate Marvel version of Doctor Octopus is younger and very muscular. While the original incarnation wore sunglasses due to nearsightedness, the Ultimate Spider-manversion wears them to disguise horrible wounds inflicted on his eyes during the accident that created him, that leave him very sensitive to light. His arms are also different: he modifies them so that their ends are made up of nanobots, and thus can have various lethal accessories, transforming the three-pronged 'claws' into flamethrowers, tasers, and machine guns. Ultimate Six revealed he had a psychic link with his arms and could control them remotely. Ultimate Spider-Man revealed that he also has the ability to manipulate metal. In the Spider-man 2 movie, Doctor Octopus (played by Alfred Molina) was the main villain. He started out as a scientist who work with Harry Osborn to help Oscorp industries. He created a machine that created a mini sun and gave a lot of energy and Doctor Octavius used his four arms to control it, but the machine malfunctioned causing and explosion that follows the same story line from his origin in the comics. In the movie he had turned evil with his four mechanical arms and wanted to recreate the same machine no matter what the cost was. In the end he ends up helping Spider-man save the city from the effects of his creation, and destroying the machine leading to his death and his body is seen sinking into the bottom of a lake with the machine. In my opinion I believe that actor Alfred Molina was great and amazing portraying Doctor Octopus and stayed true to the comics.
He is also seen in the Spectacular Spider-man TV series and in this version he is shorter and he stays true to the comics by wearing a green suit under a trench coat which resembles the one from the movie. In the Ultimate Spider-man TV series, his body is paralyzed and he depends on his arms for movement. This version is much darker, nastier and also true to the ultimate comics. His arms also look like the ones seen in the Amazing Spider-man 2 cameo.
The Amazing Spider-man movie Doctor Octopus
Doctor Otto Octavius is not seen or mentioned in the Amazing Spider-man movie, but in the Amazing Spider-man 2 his arms can be seen near the end of the movie along with Vulture's wings. This cameo of his arms might lead to a possible appearance of him in a future Amazing Spider-man film and the Sinister Six spin-off film. His arms look like the Ultimate version of his arms. Doctor Octavius is mentioned working for Oscorp in the Oscorp website www.Oscorp Industries - Home in the "Faces of Oscorp" section.
Rhino review Rhino was not in Sam Raimi's Spider-man trilogy, but he was included in Spider-man 2 the game and the Amazing Spider-man game. He also appears in Spider-man tv shows and comics too. His first comic book appearance was him being a Russian crook who was named Aleksei Mkhailovich Sytsevich and was taken to a prison where he met 2 scientists who created him a special gray super-strong hide which he wore that gave him the horn and appearance of a rhino. Calling himself the Rhino, he was assigned to kidnap John Jameson for his military secrets and he encountered Spider-man who he fought with. Spider-man found out that the Rhino's weakness is charging one way without being able to turn. Spider-man then made special webs that melted the rhino suit off the Rhino. At jail again Rhino encountered the same 2 scientists which gave him a more powerful Rhino suit that was extra strong. Rhino usually has a gray suit with rhino feet and horn above his face and fake rhino eyes in the sides of his head. His new rhino suit he got had armor and a more darker color. The ultimate Rhino suit is mechanical and sports glowing eyes and other things that make him resemble a giant robot, and his name changes from Aleksei to Alex O'Hirn and the suit is called R.H.I.N.O.. Spider-man defeats him by creating a short circuit in the R.H.I.N.O. suit. The Rhino in the Spectacular Spider-man tv series resembles the first version only making him bigger and his suit never comes off. He was a crook working with Flint Marko to rob banks and he was given a rhino hide by Dr.Octopus. he also gets dehydrated when running too much and get very tired. Rhino appears in the Ultimate Spider-man tv series and he is a teenager bullied by Flash Thompson and he steals a rhino serum which turns him into a real rhino/human creature and wants to get revenge on Flash only to be stopped by Spider-man. In these 2 tv series Rhino's human name is Alex O'Hirn.
The Amazing Spider-man 2 Rhino review (Spoilers!!!)
In the Amazing Spider-man 2 movie, Rhino's name is Aleksei Mkhailovich Sytsevich and he is a Russian criminal and part of a Russian criminal mob. In this version he is played by Paul Giamatti and is bald and has tattoos. He steals an Oscorp truck with some strange vials and is stopped by Spider-man to which he calls a "funny guy" in a sarcastic tone. This version is mostly based on the Ultimate Rhino sporting a giant Mechanical suit with red eyes. Aleksei steals the suit and uses it to fight Spider-man in a 4 minute battle. The fight scene is unknown and Rhino will appear with the suit for 4 minute. At least he might appear with a longer role in the third Amazing Spider-man movie in 2016. I think this version of Rhino will be amazing and I hope he gets to have cool moves. P.S. Rhino will also have machine guns in the suit, how amazing is that?
